Some of you might remember the tale of our little Sandro Hit x French Kiss filly foal who was born in October and had a huge fight for life on her little hooves. Three times I made the call to have her euthanised, but she kept on fighting and we couldn’t give up on her. Once she finally came home from the vet hospital, endless nights of bucket feeding and medicating her, watching her struggling to feed from her dam and struggling in the heat, but never giving up, she gradually got better and better, to the point where we now call her normal….although she is rather too friendly! Our heartfelt thanks go out to the staff at the Charles Sturt University Veterinary Clinical Centre, particularly Sharanne Raidal, for never giving up on her!
Here she is now at 4.5 months of age – Cooramin Sandro Shimmer – a keeper for us. How could we sell her after that story!

Another of our keepers from the 2012 season is Cooramin Ruby Hit (Royal Hit x Aloha Bobby Dazzler). The anglo blood in this filly is very important to us, so it is very exciting and satisfying to be able to keep Ruby for our breeding program. Here she is at 4 months of age.
