Amid the chaos of a newborn baby, our first foal for the season arrived last night! Byalee Mandolin (Medallion x Salute) presented us with an absolutely gorgeous buckskin colt by Hilkens Nougat Cream. This is the third time we’ve repeated this cross and it’s been so successful for us. Here are some newborn pics of the lovely little fella, who we have named Cooramin Narnia.

We have received great news from several owners of Cooramin horses recently. Janice Naissen, owner of rising 5yo Cooramin Flamecrest (Ferrero Rocher x Mongraf), reported that he did his first novice test recently and was awarded nine marks of 9 in the test! Natalie Boucher, owner of yearling Cooramin Napoleon (Hilkens Nougat Cream x Medallion – a full brother to Narnia above) reports that she is delighted with the way little Nipper is taking all his handling in his stride, including recently being clipped all over! Kathryn Wright, owner of rising 3yo Cooramin Ramiro Hit (Royal Hit x Don Ramiro) reports that Rocky has just gone to the breaker and is accepting everything without any problem and had his first saddle and also first ride yesterday. Carlee Coombes, owner of 3yo Cooramin Fairytale (Fiji R x Medallion), has taken Folly to several lessons and received a comment from a Grand Prix rider that Folly is a world class horse!
It’s great to hear how our youngsters are going and we are delighted that their new owners are enjoying them so much. If you have one of our horses, we love to hear your updates!
Brent is continuing to work with rising 3yo Cooramin Redwood Hit (Royal Hit x Weltmeyer) who has recently been started under saddle. Rusty is proving to be elastic, supple and sensible under saddle, really starting to develop his balance and paces under a rider. It is great to finally see Brent working with a horse his own size! Rusty will be officially for sale in Autumn, but please feel free to let us know if you’re interested in finding out more or coming for a ride at this stage. Watch this space, as we think this combination is pretty special!
