More congratulations today to Karen Skimmings of Murrumbateman who snapped up a bargain and purchased Hunterview Florencia, one of our favourite mares, in foal to OO Seven. We will really miss Flossy’s gorgeous nature, but look forward to seeing what she produces for Karen. We have known Karen for many years through our association with Young Dressage Club and it’s lovely to know that Flossy is going to such a great home.

The reason for Flossy’s sale was the neonatal isoerythrolysis that her Sandro Hit filly (Cooramin Sandro Shimmer) suffered in October. Throughout her critical period in the weeks following her birth, I made the decision to euthanise her on a number of occasions only to be asked by the vets to give her one more day. Well she’s now 3½ months old and has improved so much that we are hopeful that she might make a full recovery. I am still bucket feeding her every day, but weaning is drawing closer and with that hopefully it will be onwards and upwards for her.
