Wow, it’s been a long time since I updated this news page! Facebook’s immediacy makes it the go-to place for instant updates, so if you are reading this and haven’t yet added me on Facebook, add Heather Cooramin as a friend!
We have one more pregnancy to add to the list for the close of the season, with CK Santolini (Sir Donnerhall) in foal to Finest, due in November. Unfortunately Cooramin Brindabella slipped her Sir Donnerhall pregnancy at about 120 days, so we now have eight pregnancies on the way for the 2016 season:
Sir Donnerhall x Hillbreeze Rapture (Rotspon x Carbid) – due August
De Niro x Aloha China Bell (anglo – Aloha Kaaba x Aloha Desert Bell) – due August
Furstenball x Cooramin Ruby Hit (Royal Hit x Aloha Bobby Dazzler) – due August
De Niro x Cooramin Sandro Shimmer (Sandro Hit x French Kiss) – due August
Furstenball x HV Wildfire (Weltmeyer x Penmarric Killarney) – due September
Sandro Hit x Bradgate Park Bettina (Brentano II x Royal Diamond) – due October
Furstenball x Hillbreeze Shemozzle (Sir Donnerhall x Whisper) – due October
Finest x CK Santolini (Sir Donnerhall x Penmarric Killarney) – due November
All our 2015 foals are now weaned and the first two have travelled to their new homes – Cooramin Santinegro (Negro x Hillbreeze Shemozzle) to Linda Comis and Cooramin Goldleaf (Golden Rock x Bradgate Park Bettina) to Prue Roscoe.
Cooramin Fable (Furst Love x Byalee Mandolin) has been sold to Lisa Vince from WA. Lisa purchased Byalee Mandolin’s 2013 foal, Cooramin Kingfisher, and was so happy with him that she bought another!
Cooramin Nilegro (Negro x CK Santolini) has also been sold to repeat buyers, the Farraway family from Bathurst. Leanne, Toby and Sarah did a fantastic job bringing on Cooramin Bernini, who they purchased as a foal and recently sold as a competitive 5yo, so we look forward to seeing Nilegro’s progress under their care.
The only foal we have left available for sale now is Cooramin Noble Dazzler, a buckskin colt by Noble Dancer out of Cooramin Bedazzled (anglo by Aloha Bobby Dazzler). This is a sensational-moving foal and surprisingly tall, so I’m almost tempted to keep him, but he is for sale at the moment. Check out his video footage (link on the For Sale page) to see how he moves!
My father, Graham Clegg, passed away in early March, which has added another layer of chaos to the past few months. I am back in the saddle a couple of days a week, riding the wonderfully reliable Cooramin Don Aloha (Don Ramiro x Aloha Crystal Bell), after his rider Kellie Thomas completed her university studies and moved to Sydney to pursue her veterinary career. While it’s a shame that such a cool horse is spending much of his life in the paddock, he’s perfect for my current lifestyle, with young children occupying much of my time, so we enjoy a ride when we get the opportunity.
