We recently added a new addition to our horsey family at Cooramin – an anglo weanling filly from Aloha Stud, breeders of arguably Australia’s best performance arabian derivatives for decades. Jim and Mary bred Heather’s old FEI horse Aloha Titan as well as numerous other very good dressage horses, Aloha Tammuz, Aloha Bolero, Aloha Bobby Dazzler to name just a few, all by the amazing pure arab sire Talquah Talik. Bolero and Bobby Dazzler were both out of a prolific producer of champions, the Thoroughbred mare Queen of Bells, by Marrakesh. This is the same cross that produced our old mare Aloha Crystal Bell, but at rising 22yo each foal she gives us is a blessinig.
Our new addition is Aloha China Bell, by the pure arab Aloha Kaaba (who is out of a Talquah Talik mare), out of Aloha Desert Bell (who is by Arabian Park Desert Dashar out of Queen of Bells), so we find ourselves with a filly closely related to these amazing dressage anglos from days gone by. It is a bit of a sentimental pursuit for us, but one which we believe in strongly, as the trainability of these horses is second to none. China is tall, bay with four long socks and a blaze and the most wonderful temperament. We can hardly wait to breed with her, but will probably get her out to some shows in the meantime to show her off!
Here she is at Aloha Stud prior to weaning.
