Some very sad news to report today – two of our special older mares were starting to struggle with age-related issues and I made the heartbreaking decision to have them put to sleep together. Vale Aloha Crystal Bell (Tilly) and Cooramin Bedazzled (Maggie), our two anglo mares who have been sentimental favourites here for many years. Maggie was actually the very first live foal I bred when I was studying at university. She changed hands a couple of times after being sold as a yearling and ended up back here to have babies and live out her days. They are survived here at Cooramin by their children that we have retained – Cooramin Ruby Hit (out of Maggie), Cooramin Don Aloha, Cooramin Furstin Bell and Cooramin Goldabell (out of Tilly). May they live on through their daughters and granddaughters for many generations to come.
