Cooramin is located in the heart of a new subdivision on the outskirts of Wagga Wagga, which is making truck access to the property increasingly difficult, as well as encroaching on our rural lifestyle, so we have made the decision to give in to the pressure and subdivide our land. This has created a need to reduce our numbers, as initially we will have to lose one of our large mare and foal paddocks before we will be able to purchase land elsewhere. As a result, I reluctantly placed three of our broodmares on the market and two have already been sold.
Today we said farewell to CK Santolini (Sir Donnerhall/Penmarric Killarney), in foal to Finest, as she made the journey to Sheree Conroy in Queensland. Sheree is another repeat buyer, having purchased the exquisite Cooramin Furstenfire (Furstenball/Weltmeyer) as a foal. I can’t wait to see this beautiful foal and I do feel quite sad that Sophie’s gorgeous face won’t be around here any more.
The other mare to be sold is Bradgate Park Bettina (Brentano II/Royal Diamond). Teenie has been purchased by Prue Roscoe, who also bought Teenie’s Golden Rock son, Cooramin Goldleaf, last season. She loved the mare when she visited to inspect Goldleaf and snapped her up when the opportunity arose. Teenie will stay with us to have her Sandro Hit foal, which will be available for sale through us, and head to Prue’s place one the coming foal is weaned.
This leaves just one more mare left for sale – Hunterview Wildfire (Grace), by Weltmeyer. Grace has been one of our most consistent producers of top quality offspring and is currently carrying a foal by Furstenball, a full sibling to Cooramin Furstenfire. She is due on the 2nd September, so time to snap her up is limited!
